Interior Design and Special Features

There is no work around the fact that Accent interior style is clear and inexpensive materials makes it look less attractive than competitors like the Nissan Versa. The front seats are comfortable, however, and the driver's seat height adjustment standard is a nice touch. The lack of a tilt steering on entry-level model GL may make it more difficult for some pilots to become familiar, however.

The rear seats offer enough legs for adults of average size. However, in and out of the seats in the hatchback model requires some interference due to limitations of space between the front seats and door sills. Carrying capacity is the average vehicle in this segment, with about 16 cubic feet of space in the sedan models and over 12 cubic feet in the trunk of the sedan.

Driving Impressions

Like many small cars, Hyundai Accent 2011 performance depends largely on the transmission choice. A five-speed manual makes the car feels reasonably peppy, while the four-speed automatic bogs down. Similarly, sport-tuned suspension SE models produces better handling, while the softer springs installed GL, GS and GLS versions emphasize more stable ride. Despite a quiet interior in this segment, the Accent engine noise is often nullify this advantage in acceleration.
