2012 Fiat 500 Convertible Review

2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio Review

There once was a car so small it makes the Mini looks like a large. A car so cute movie Cars leaders did little to transform one into the lovely "Luigi". A car that if you saw one on the street, I swear it was full-scale replica of a child. This car was the Fiat 500 Cinquecento or Italian, and left a lasting mark on the history of 18 years Fiat has made a resurrection as the Mini-three years ago. Now, with the purchase of Chrysler Fiat last year, the 500 was chosen as the model pioneered the reintroduction of the Fiat brand in North America.

The Fiat 500 2012 certainly has the potential to be the next big thing (or rather small). While the original 500 was the size of a small and cozy Tikes Coupe, the Nuova 500 looks much more like a normal car - even if small. Compared to a Mini Cooper is 6 inches shorter in length and 2 inches narrower. However, it is also more than 4 inches taller, allowing a high seating position not only increases visibility, but creates the inner leg. The result is a cabin that is surprisingly broad, with more legroom on the contrary that his British rival (not that is saying a lot).

Initially, there is only one engine available: a 1.4 liter 101 hp four-cylinder coupled with a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic. No, sounds like a lot of energy (and not), but only 2350 pounds, weighs 218 pounds to 121 hp Fiat base Cooper, who manages to be reasonably optimistic. However, we will keep our hopes of heat in Europe the 500 Abarth and the incredible twin turbo twin cylinder, which promises fuel savings of around 57 mpg.

Like the Mini, the Fiat 500 2012 promises a lot of character customization in the price range is usually not known for that. There are 14 paint colors, various two-tone interior colors and a variety of graphics of the body (such as Italian green, white and red stripes on the sides). It is also equipped with the competition, but you can leave the dealership with a reasonable choice for almost 500 basis of two Grand Prix unless the Mini. The 500 peaks of only $ 23 000 when loaded to capacity. Of course, cars like the Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit and the Mazda 2 has more space for less.

However, as sunny as the sky can appear in the new Fiat 500 2012, there is a huge cloud hanging over him. Italian cars are known for their reliability, and Chrysler. An Italian car built by Chrysler in the same factory in Mexico, who built the K-Car, the Neon and PT Cruiser? It sounds like a recipe for long and trouble-free product. However, the 500 was sold in Europe long enough to work some kinks, so who knows? Let's keep our hopes and our ears open for reviews at first, but buyer beware.

500: limited-based Chrysler dealer network is still to define, but when the car begins to seep into the crowded streets of America, this is a nice sedan could enjoy the reaction inspired by the Mini-remember five years ago. Of course, the 500 is an increasingly impressive list of other cars cheap and cheerful small that are competing against the country. But even if the 2012 500 is spacious and reliable, it certainly has characteristics of "cute" and "wonderful" down pat.

Body styles, trim levels and options

In 2012, Fiat 500 is a subcompact sedan with two doors available levels Pop, Sport and Lounge trim. Standard equipment on the Pop 500 includes steel wheels and 15-inch chrome hubcaps sound system, keyless entry, full power accessories, heated mirrors, air conditioning, cruise control, tilt steering wheel alone, an adjustable driver's seat height, a trip computer and six speaker audio with CD player and more. The Convenience Package adds a leather steering wheel with audio controls, Fiat Blue & Me Bluetooth phone connectivity and an iPod interface / USB audio. Premium Bose audio package adds satellite radio with six upgraded speakers and subwoofer.

Fiat 500 Sport gains 16-inch alloy wheels, stiffer suspension tuning, steering should be a slightly different style, roof spoiler, fog lights, sport seats, cloth / vinyl upholstery sports and pop two optional packages. Satellite Radio is a separate option, though. Safety and Comfort Package (requires automatic transmission), includes automatic climate control, compact spare wheel and heated front seats.

The show returns to 500 Pop mechanical tuning and includes its optional packages together. Includes alloy wheels with 15 inch chrome exterior, fog lights, fixed glass roof, upgraded upholstery fabric. The Convenience Package adds rear parking sensors, auto-dimming mirror and a heated front seats. The Luxury Package adds leather upholstery and trim improved. A sunroof and an integrated TomTom navigation system is optional on Sport and Lounge. Dealer-installed accessories that ambient lighting inside and outside decorations are also available.

Engines and performance

In 2012, Fiat 500 is powered by a 1.4-liter four-cylinder that produces 101 horsepower and 98 lb.-ft. of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard on the pop and Sport. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard on the living room and optional on other rocks. Performance is likely to be disappointing, with a 00 under 60 km / h time of about 10 seconds. Data from the EPA fuel economy was not published at the time of writing, but based on the European reports on the 500, we believe it will likely get a combined average mpg in the mid 30s.

Security

2012 Fiat 500 comes standard with stability and traction control, ABS, driver's knee airbag, front side airbags, curtain airbags and a half.

Interior Design and Special Features

All the retro Fiat 500 shouts' Mini fighter ", the interior decibel extra trips. He did not many customization options and accessories, as its British rival, but the 500 does not offer stylish two-tone many colors and themes of some intelligent design. It also has a control layout simpler than the form of mini-feature. The manual air conditioning consists of four rotary controls and stereo are high-mounted and easy to read from a look. If there is a clear inability to Fiat is the quality of the interior is not quite the minimum level, but certainly high for the other cars in its modest price range.

In addition to the Smart Fortwo, Fiat 500 is the smallest cars sold in the United States. However, high-mounted front seats allow a significant amount of legroom, even along the driver (although it would be nice if the steering wheel tucked riding position better). Legroom in the back seat is understandably small compared to other small cars, but is more generous than the Mini Cooper offers.

Behind the rear seats, you will find only 6.5 cubic foot trunk, but again, it's more than what is offered by Mini. Lower the rear seat, and you will find a small place, less floor space, but it's still good enough to carry the bulky item strange.

Driving Impressions

We have yet to conduct a US-Spec 2012 Fiat 500, but based on reports from Europe, do not expect the same kind of entertainment at the wheel like a Mini or Ford Fiesta. The direction is rather the lack of meaning and agile type of reaction is expected of a car that seems not, if the director seems to have been retouched in North America for better stability at high speed winds through of. The suspension was also modified to our shores with the comfort-oriented ride, which could be a good thing since the 500 euros of the specifications is on the firm side can react unsophisticatedly over bumps. The Europeans are a little spoiled when it comes to the many sub-compact quality to them, so maybe we'll have a more sunny 500 when you can finally be proven.

2011 Kia Soul

2011 Kia Soul

Kia Seoul may be some improvements in 2011, new rear shocks and standard rear disc brakes (rear drums, which replaces last year) is the most important. Other minor changes are the new door handles, button start, onboard computer, heated exterior mirrors and.

Whether or not the car style are placed square on the line between SUV and sedan are a fad or the shape of things to come remains to be seen. Just by the nature of their square shapes, which offer a remarkable space and practical, but aesthetic in general, leave much to be desired. 2011 Kia Soul can be counted among the boxes on wheels, but stands out with the corners with a more interesting and less difficult.

Such as competition, offering Kia Soul to a long list of features and customization options. He is also in agreement with funky names like trim + Soul and soul. No, it's not a typo: the plus sign and an exclamation point is actually trim levels. Features such as a surround speaker that light pulses with the music is certainly news for the youth market, but the soul also has a certain appeal practice. Guarantee affordable and generous, two of his most prominent attributes.

Kia engineers also managed to infuse the soul with Peppy engine performance (at least on higher trim levels) and sporty handling. Together they form a core surprisingly fun to drive small cars, there is always a breeze to maneuver around tight city limits in relative comfort. On the highway, had the soul of last year's ride quality a concern, but the new rear shock absorbers must be at least partially address this problem.

We evaluate the 2011 Kia Soul at high boxy open competition, which includes the Nissan Cube and Scion xB. Both can accommodate more cargo than the Kia with its rear seats stowed, but scores points for Soul most attractive designs to us. There are some more traditional choices as well as the Honda Fit and Mini Cooper Clubman, they also have sharp styling, handling and cargo versatility sports surprising. But Kia Soul gets almost everything right. And we think it is worth adding to your list.

Body styles, trim levels and options

2011 Kia Seoul is a wagon with four-door sedan / available in the base, +! and Sport trim levels. Standard equipment includes 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, full power accessories, computer, tilt steering, cloth upholstery, rear seat and four 60/40-split-folding speaker stereo with CD/MP3 player, satellite radio, auxiliary audio jack and USB. Seoul + bigger engine, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, keyless entry, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, rear privacy glass, driver seat height adjustment, the metal interior, Bluetooth, steering wheel mounted audio controls and dual speakers.

A sunroof, fog lamps, rugs and a better audio system are optional on the soul +. Included in the soul, with 18-inch wheels, heated mirrors, leather steering wheel and two-tone upholstery. Alma sport is like the soul! and adds a sport suspension, an interior two-tone red and black, metal pedals and unique exterior trim details. The sunroof is optional on Sport.

Buyers can choose the premium package Seoul! and Sport models, which adds leather upholstery, heated front seats and keyless ignition. Other options include stand-alone body kit, cargo cover, and auto-dimming rear view mirror.

Engines and performance

Base 2011 Kia Seoul is powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 122 horsepower and 115 pound-feet of torque to the ground five-speed manual. Higher power levels for the 2.0-liter four makes 142 hp in-line and 137 Nm of torque. A five-speed gearbox is standard, and the four-speed automatic transmission is available as an option. Performance testing, Sports Seoul manual went from zero to 60 mph in a respectable 8.8 seconds.

EPA believes that the Soul is the basic fuel economy of 26 mpg and 28 mpg highway mpg city/31 in combined driving. The 2.0-liter engine is estimated at 24/30/26 mpg with either manual or automatic transmission.

Security

Standard safety equipment as all Kia models Seoul 2011 include four-wheel antilock disc brakes, brake assist, front active head restraints, stability control, traction control, front side airbags, curtain airbags and a half.

Kia Soul has not been evaluated by the new government, more grueling 2011 crash-test procedure. Sine 2010-rating (which is not comparable with 2011 votes) was a top five stars for frontal crash protection and side for both front passengers and four stars for protection against side impact for rear passengers. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the soul to its highest score of "good" in frontal impact side offset, and stress tests of the roof.

In recent braking tests, a Kia Soul! stop to 60 mph in 121 feet, the average car of this class.

Interior Design and Special Features

Even if Seoul Kia interior design is practical, it looks a lot younger and colors to make things. Podlike dash center console is pushed, with simple audio and climate controls within easy reach. Optional upholstery and a special two-tone colors are a modern feel in the cabin, something is missing a lot of competition Kia.

There is no shortage of space inside, with elevated seats provide plenty of legroom, even for the most passengers, while the large boxy roof provides adequate clearance. Luggage space behind the rear seats is 19 cubic feet. Fold the seats flat kick that number up to 53 cubes. This is slightly lower than the Honda Fit, several feet shy of the Nissan Cube and Scion xB well for 70 cubic feet.

Guide

In 2011, Kia Soul, especially sports model, agile and feels well planted at high speed cornering. Director numbness on center feel and a strange non-linear action, though. Around the city, the soul is pleasantly comfortable. With a modified rear shocks, we expect the highway route to be less troubled than the previous model year. While option 18-inch wheels and tires are certainly attractive, they can also cause excessive noise and a certain hardness larger bumps.

Seoul-based engine is fighting to get the car running, but because only offered a manual transmission, we are inclined to think most buyers lean towards the 2.0-liter engine and automatic transmission. This engine is at home in the city due to traffic and a number of solid low-end torque and enthusiasm. Manual transmission is fairly straight, but throw the switch and the long introduction is vague.

2011 Acura MDX Review

2011 Acura MDX Review

The brand Acura is typically a provider of luxury cars with a reasonable value of the strong and rich features. You buy the Acura because it is a reliable and well made, the prestige of the ending is not that important. This philosophy also applies to the Acura MDX, 2011, but in this case, the MDX also happens to be a luxurious and fun-drive crossover mid-sized luxury SUV in its class.

Much of the fun to drive quality concerns Acura-called "Super Handling" all-wheel drive system (SH-AWD). By determination of the flow automatically to the outside wheels during cornering, the system can help MDX feel more agile and happy in the corners. Finally, roll well controlled and communicative steering contribute to a reactive crossover that grows much smaller than it is.

Inside, the MDX has a cabin to match the Acura RL flagship in terms of quality and certainly all of its SUV competitors the same price. Wood trim, soft-touch materials and switching equipment of high quality to create a luxurious atmosphere. As for features, yet the basic MDX comes with a host of standard equipment, and three groups of options available to the luxury and comfort quotient. If there is a point of contention is that the console is flooded with buttons, but they turn out to be intuitive, once you know where everything is.

For the money, the 2011 Acura MDX makes sense. Of course, vehicles like the Buick Enclave and Ford Flex are more spacious but the Acura is definitely a high-end. The BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML are smaller and more expensive, the Infiniti FX is considerably lower, the Land Rover LR4 is thirsty and more expensive Lexus RX 350 and lacks a third row of seats. No doubt everyone has their own advantages, but when it comes to being sensible and desirable, the Acura MDX is unsurpassed.

Body styles, trim levels and options

In 2011, Acura MDX is available in one trim level. Standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels, automatic xenon headlights, fog lights, a power liftgate, a sunroof, tinted windows, heated eight-way power front seats, two-way adjustable driver lumbar, steering wheel tilt and telescopic, leather upholstery, tri-zone automatic climate control, a rearview camera, a mirror auto-dimming mirror, Bluetooth and an eight-speaker audio system with six CD changer, auxiliary audio input jack and satellite radio .

The technology package adds a multi-view camera for parking, GPS linked, solar-sensing climate control, upgraded leather upholstery, a navigation system, real-time traffic and weather, voice control and a 10-speaker Acura / ELS Surround sound system with digital music storage and a. iPod / USB audio interface The package includes all the elements of advanced technology and adds 19-inch wheels, adaptive suspension, adaptive cruise control, a blind spot warning system, the braking system to reduce impact (CMBS), auto -leveling headlights, a sport steering wheel, ventilated front seats. The package of entertainment that can be added to or Advanced technology package adds a rear entertainment system, heated seats, second row.

Engines and performance

The 2011 Acura MDX is powered by a 3.7-liter V6 that produces 300 horsepower and 270 lb.-ft. of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission and Acura "Super Handling" all-wheel drive are standard.
In test performance, MDX has grown from zero to 60 km / h in 7.1 seconds. Fuel economy EPA-estimated is 16 mpg highway mpg and 18 mpg city/21 combined. When properly equipped, the MDX Maximum towing capacity is 5000 pounds.
Security

Standard safety equipment for the 2011 Acura MDX includes disc brakes with ABS with Brake Assist, front airbags seat side, side curtain airbags, active head restraints and stability control with trailer stabilization function. The CMBS optionally, monitoring the following distance and closing speed, warns the driver if a collision seems likely through visual and audible warnings. If a collision is imminent, the system can automatically apply braking and cinch the front seatbelts.

In the brake test, the MDX came to a stop 60 mph 123 m - distance to the solid type of vehicle. MDX has not yet been evaluated using the new government, more difficult in 2011 crash tests. According to the 2010 votes (which are not comparable to Reviews of 2011) Acura MDX earned five stars in all frontal and side impact test impact. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the highest score of "good" in the same protection as the occupants of the vehicle in front offset and side impact crashes.

Interior Design and Special Features

Cab MDX is a dream for lovers of technology. Even the base model has its share of electronic toys and packages of technology and add even more in advance. Best of all, they are easy to use thanks to the use of buttons is not only, but also a multifunction button and voice commands. Basically, you can do things the way you prefer. Panasonic / ELS Surround sound system is one of the best, as is the navigation system.

The MDX is roomy enough for a row of three mid-size luxury crossover SUV. An adult can have on the third row for a short trip, but the rear seats are best suited for children. If you want space for adults, the Buick Enclave and Ford Flex are better choices. A total of 83.5 cubic feet of cargo space available with the second and third row folded, which is also above average for a midsize crossover luxury.

Driving Impressions

For a three-row SUV, the Acura MDX 2011 does a great job of acting as if it was not. On winding roads, the MDX is a partner interested in using the "Managing Super" on all wheels. There is a sense of initial torque of a wheel to the need for tight turns, cluing the driver in the magic behind the electronic curtain, but sometimes the same efficiency as the result is encouraging rather than distracting. Equipped with the Advance package, active dampers absorb shock bumps in the MDX, if necessary, and closes when the pace quickens. The MDX is truly one of the most rewarding luxury crossover to drive.

Acceleration 3.7-liter V6 is smooth until the tach needle rises in the shadow of the medium range, the motor drives with enthusiasm. MDX is a six-speed automatic transmission upshifts smoothly and quickly scaled when the throttle is prodded.

2012 Toyota Yaris Sedan

2012 Toyota Yaris Sedan

Just a few years ago, you could not buy a car small economy without facing significant shortages in areas such as content functionality and refinement. These days, many models offer elegant cabins, enjoyable driving dynamics and high-end equipment such as Bluetooth and satellite radio. In 2011, Toyota Yaris is a car that is in line with this development, even if it does not respond to the drive.

Budget car buyers are looking for a frugal option to use and easy to carry, and the Yaris offers on both fronts. While its 106 horsepower, 1.5 liter engine is not a perfectionist when it comes to performance, four-cylinder engine with up to 32 mpg EPA combined, and this marks the Yaris as a serious candidate for those who prefer to travel a cheap gas station. This little car also has a comfortable ride, and once made in their sexy lingerie, wide variety of body styles (the range includes a sedan and sedan two) and Toyota's reputation for reliability is easy to see why the Yaris is a good alternative to choose from economy cars.

But "decent" is not the same as "first class" and there are gaps that prevent the Yaris to set the pace in their class. While the acceleration is acceptable with the manual transmission, vehicle sales volume four-speed automatic is a poor match for the engine of ambition, resulting in performance that can be felt decidedly slow in certain situations driving. Yaris sedans also offer substantially less cargo capacity than some rivals.

With rivals such as Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit, Mazda 2, Nissan Versa and Suzuki SX4, Toyota Yaris works with a package of talent. The Ford Fiesta and Mazda 2 are the favorites for drivers who want the sportiest of the election, the party has also achieved equality (with a manual transmission) and above (with automatic) Yaris combined mileage. Drivers seeking more useful to appreciate the Fit, the SX4 hatchback and Versa, the Fit and the SX4 offers more than twice the cargo space of the Yaris sedan, the Versa with not too far. Overall, the Toyota Yaris has some attributes of law, but given the competition, which ends up being lost in the crowd.

Body styles, trim levels and options
In 2012, Toyota Yaris is a subcompact economy, which is available in three-door hatchback, five-door hatchback and four-door sedan. Each body style is available in one finish: base. Standard equipment includes steel wheels 14-inch, intermittent wipers, air conditioning, four adjustable front seats and tilt steering. The sedan adds a few more points to tailgate, like a tachometer, a height-adjustable driver's seat and a safe distance. Speakers are pre-assembled, but the radio is not offered as standard equipment.

Most of the settings are grouped in a progressive packages are just a few distinct characteristics. Convenience package adds 60/40-split rear seats (slide / tilt for sedans), 15-inch wheels, rear wiper for the hatchback models, CD/MP3 player and auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. Convenience of the motor assembly includes a package of articles and pin accessories net and keyless entry. Sport Package adds a power unit with improvements to the fashion, iPod integration, leather sports seats and steering wheel and shift knob. Stand-alone options include fog lamps and cruise control.

Propulsion and Performance

Front-wheel drive 2012 Toyota Yaris is powered by a 1.5-liter inline-4 engine with an output of 106 hp and 103 lb-ft of torque. A five-speed manual transmission is standard with an optional automatic transmission with four speeds. In a test of a Yaris with an automatic transmission took a leisurely 10.7 seconds to reach 60 mph, which is on the slow side compared to the competition. The manual transmission offers only a little more encouragement.

The remarkable fuel economy of Toyota Yaris is one of its strengths. In an EPA-estimated 29 mpg city/36 mpg highway and 32 mpg combined, manual-equipped Yaris sips less gas than most competitors. Choosing the automatic drops these numbers to 29/35/31 mpg.

Security

Standard safety equipment includes antilock brakes and side curtain airbags and traction control and stability. In government tests, Yaris sedan scored four out of five stars for protection against frontal and side impact for all passengers. In frontal crash tests, scored three and five door hatchback five stars for driver protection and four stars for passenger protection, side impact tests net five stars for occupant protection and three stars for front them back. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Yaris sedan its highest score of "good" for protection against frontal and side impact for all passengers.

Interior Design and Special Features

Both 2011 Toyota Yaris sedans feature cramped rear seats, but optional slide / slide function adds a little 'comfort to compensate. Sedan measures 18.7 inches longer than the subcompact sedans offer fairly spacious cabin. Slightly different styling coupe and sedans, where the sedan is more comfortable.

Each model has a control panel Yaris, mounted in the center. These indicators require a view of the road to read, and the readability is further aggravated by the fact that the faces are not inclined towards the driver. Other negative aspects of the lack of a telescoping steering wheel and the fact that the hatchback models do not offer height adjustment for the driver's seat.

Compared with the sedan, hatchback Yaris offer certain advantages when it comes to design and storage capacity. They have three gloveboxes to the sedan only Ben, and also receive a stylish, near the center console.

With the rear seats in place, each of the two cars offer a little more than nine cubic feet of luggage space, less than half of what a setting can contain. Lower the rear seats reveals 26 cubic feet of cargo space, which is still small for the sedan class. The sedan offers 12.9 cubic feet of cargo capacity of less than rival cars like the Ford Focus, Nissan Versa and Suzuki SX4.

Driving Impressions

On the open road, feeling the 2012 Toyota Yaris fixed, while in the city, fast, light steering effort made parking maneuvers a breeze. The engine is quiet when driven gently, but it can get very strong and Buzzy when pushed harder. The power is sufficient for melting and passing on the highway. As a daily commuter car makes sense, however, the Yaris meet the needs of most drivers.

2012 Honda Accord Sedan

2011 Honda Accord Sedan

In 2012, the Honda Accord may be the first significant update of the current generation of the platform. In particular, fuel economy is high due to aerodynamic magazine, as well as changes to engines and transmissions. SE trim level has been increased and there is new additional functions, such as an iPod / USB interface, reversing camera, memory functions and commands of the driver change. Exterior has received a slight update, while the interior climate control buttons have been modified compatibility with the optional navigation system.

"What's midsize sedan should I buy?" The answer to this question has long been "Honda Accord". It is an instinctive reaction, as it applies to your birthday or the name of your dog. The deal was the first choice in the segment consistently recommended always been easy. Times change, however. With stunning new competitors, the 2011 Accord, Honda already has serious rivals to compete.

The current generation of the Agreement (it debuted in 2008) is the largest ever, offering the most gracious interiors in its class. Yet this super-sizing of the Accord also comes with a disadvantage, because it feels more like the "right size" in the family sedan category. While its management remains sensitive and tactile, the agreement tends to feel super-great when driving in turns. Its acceleration is a bit disappointing, with a five-speed automatic have to do here, when most competing models now offer more vivid six-speed.

It is positive for 2012, since the choice of engines have become more agreement frugal. Thanks to aerodynamic tweaks, reduced engine friction and review gear transmission, four-cylinder Accord is now an EPA-rated 23 city/34 highway, about 2 km per liter, which is the Agreement on top fuel economy of the organization of family sedans. The V6 is also more effective this year, too.

Unfortunately, the interior Agreement has not changed much in 2011. Compared to new competitors like the Ford Fusion, Hyundai Sonata and Kia Optima, the car looks Agreement and feel a bit cheap. The plastic is not as nice and seems bleak - especially if you choose to gray. Honda has made some small changes in the climate control complex available on models with navigation in the year, but the center console Agreement shall remain in the grip of too many buttons.

However, it is important to note that the 2011 Honda Accord continues to be a choice among solid family sedans. It is spacious, fuel efficient and reliable, and should hold its value well. The agreement also comes in a sporty coupe body style, something that few other car manufacturers offer in their cars in the class. So we always recommend the Agreement. But choices like the Fusion, Optima, Sonata, Mazda 6 and even the Suzuki Kizashi now exceed the agreement in many areas, so the answer to "What midsize sedan should I buy?" Are now more confused than it used to be.

Body styles, trim levels and options

2011 Honda The Accord is available as a midsize sedan and coupe. The sedan is available in LX, LX-P, SE, EX and EX-L trim levels, while the coupe LX-S, EX and EX-L MIC.

Base LX trim is equipped with a 16-inch steel wheels, keyless entry, full power accessories, air conditioning, cruise control, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, height-adjustable driver seat, manual and six speaker audio system with CD player and an additional audio. LX-P trim adds 16-inch alloy wheels and power driver seat eight so. SE adds leather seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power adjustable driver lumbar, heated front seats. EX adds or replaces the LX-P devices with 17-inch wheels, a more efficient four-cylinder engine, sunroof, heated mirrors, electrically adjustable mirrors, driver lumbar adjustment, upgraded interior, a charger and a six-CD audio interface USB.

EX-L adds automatic headlights, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, leather upholstery, a leather steering wheel, automatic dimming rearview mirror, Bluetooth, a seven-speaker system upgraded sound, satellite radio and the possibility of a navigation system with voice control and a rearview mirror camera. A V6 EX-L also gains a memory configuration of the seat and seat four-way power passenger.

Coupe LX-S trim is well equipped LX sedan, but 17-inch wheels and six-CD changer. EX Coupe does not include the driver power lumbar adjustment, but not the EX-L Sedan to upgrade the stereo without satellite radio. Just as the lumbar spine, and satellite radio is added to the EX-L. The choice of V6 EX-L adds 18-inch wheels.

Propulsion and Performance

For 2012Honda Accord LX and SE trim are powered by a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine that produces 177 horsepower and 161 lb-ft of torque. EX version of this engine produces 190 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. Both versions come standard with a five-speed manual transmission, while the five-speed automatic transmission is optional. In performance testing , walked an automatic LX-P from zero to 60 km / h in 9.1 seconds, which is on the slow side for this class. With the automatic, fuel economy EPA-estimated for both LX and EX versions are 23 mpg city/34 mpg highway and 27 mpg combined. The manual reduced the number cited by 1 mpg.

The Accord EX and EX-L can be equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 engine and 271 horsepower for good and 254 lb-ft of torque (251 with manual cut-equipped). A five-speed automatic transmission is standard on both body styles, coupe with shift paddles. The coupe can be equipped with a six-speed manual transmission. In performance tests , a V6 sedan went from zero to 60 mph in 7 seconds, while a manual-equipped coupe that was in 6.3. 20/30/24 The sedan reached EPA-estimated, while the coupe 19/28/22 17/26/21 with automatic and manual.

Security

Every 2012 Honda Accord with anti-lock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front side airbags, curtain airbags and a half. In tests the brakes , the various agreements that we have tested over the years, have done 60 mph about 130 meters - on the long side of this vehicle class.

In the government's new, more demanding crash tests in 2011, Accord has received a five-star ratings across the overall performance, front-impact protection and side-impact protection. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety gave the highest score performance agreement "good" of the car from the front-offset and side impact collisions, and the second best rating, "acceptable" in the roof strength test.

Interior Design and Special Features

The Honda Accord no longer has the kind of quality materials and construction used to make his cabin a reference point. There are harder plastic in some competitive vehicles, and the fit and finish fell short of their predecessors of the car. A more banal with lots of buttons does not do favors. The optional navigation system rises telling another button, but the voice commands, and command high screen are multipurpose less friendly.

The leather seats are high-end polarizing - some of us love its bold lines and strong support, while others complain of numbness after long flights and very aggressive lumbar support. None of these complaints were directed to the rear, which found that between the average class size bigger - the height of the face are plentiful, even for 6 footers. The trunk of 14 cubic feet is numerically on the small side, but has a large aperture and is reflected in the way that seems more useful than it really is. Back seat and trunk of the coupe are obviously much smaller, but between the court, the agreement is in fact one of the most helpful.

Driving Impressions

While we admire well weighted and communicative steering the 2011 Honda Accord, a lot of driving experience of others is a little 'disappointed. In particular, too much body roll when cornering (coupe is better in this respect), and the ride quality is not as good as what you get from other top sedans. Another concern is the increased amount of noise expected in this segment.

The base four-cylinder engine is particularly noteworthy, offering a quiet and acceleration rather noisy, but the standard 190-HP version is more refined and offers similar fuel economy. Past Honda V6 was something to brag about, but the 2011 Accord V6 lacks torque down and feels much less powerful than the V6 same competition.
