The new Sportage comes standard with a 2.4-liter DOHC 16-value of the four-cylinder engine Variable Value Timing (CVVT), which offers more power and better fuel economy than the previous 2.7-liter V6. More powerful, but very direct injection of gas (GDI), the Central Turbo will be available for the 2011 model year. Offered in two-wheel (2WD) or four-wheel drive (AWD) configurations, paired with either a six-speed manual (basic) or a six-speed automatic, consumers have a variety of combinations of transmission to meet their needs driving. Design Sportage AWD take 100 percent of engine torque, the front wheels in normal driving conditions, fuel consumption, but when wheel slippage is detected, the percentage of torque is automatically transferred to the rear wheels to help maintain the forward momentum. When driving on slippery surfaces, such as rain, snow, mud, dirt roads or terrain, the driver can manually select the mode "Lock," the couple split up evenly between front and rear at a speed of 25 mph to improve stability.

The 2011 Sportage is brand new, including its platform, which has been completely redesigned for the new CUV. With a total length of 174.8 inches, width 73 inches, a wheelbase of 104 inches, the Sportage is longer, wider and lower than its predecessor, improving handling and aerodynamics. Built on a unibody chassis, the Sportage uses independent front suspension system and rear. MacPherson used in the front and refined to improve stability and feel, while new side load springs reduce friction. A multilink rear suspension system is again used in conjunction with coil springs and new shock absorbers mounted separately to minimize intrusion into the cabin space and trunk and add to the management Sportage.
The new suspension design offers the same convenient route than the previous generation, but also offers improved management features with a more precise response to driver input. The front and rear suspensions are mounted in a small hydroformed subframe to help isolate the occupants of the irregularities on the surface of the road.
Much quieter and more refined than its predecessor, as a series of aggressive measures to reduce NVH, all-new Sportage will use a new body design with a greater use of high strength steel.
