Interior Design and Special Features

While competitors have evolved over the years with higher levels of luxury and refinement, GMC Canyon is let down by sections, materials and poor design of the seats. But Canyon deserves high marks for its simple layout and straightforward operating controls and gauges. Curb weight is slightly pinched on extended cab models and the cabin crew, while the entrance and exit for rear passengers can be a bit challenging because of rather small rear door openings. The rear cargo boxes feature Canyon at two levels of loading, and removable double-position tailgate can be secured partially open to supporting the position of the 4-by-8 sheets of wood on top of its wheel arches .

Driving Impressions

2011 GMC Canyon cabin is relatively quiet in the city, although wind noise around doors will stand up at highway speeds. Four and five sources of energy are fairly smooth, but the performance lags behind major competitors V6 Canyon. Available in four-speed automatic gear does not offer as much as its competitors, but at least the changes are smooth and at the right time.

For those looking for a lot of power and towing capacity, of course, you want to determine the V8 5.3-liter that puts at the disposal Canyon in the same range of muscular V8 powered Dodge Dakota competitor. Canyon in the standard suspension is tuned for a soft and comfortable to ride on the sidewalk, when the available Z71 Off-Road suspension to improve off-road at the expense of compliance. ZQ8 sport suspension provides a much sharper response curve.
